BELIEF Project

October 17th, 2006

Dear Domenico Guerrieri,

Following up your interest in the EuroIndia2004 ICT Co-operation Forum, we are delighted to invite you to the BELIEF eInfrastructure conference, New Delhi-India, 14-15 December 2006.

Bringing together 250 Europeans and Indians, the event is a unique opportunity to exchange knowledge, showcase achievements and discuss the priorities, trends and areas of mutual co-operation in Grid computing and eInfrastructures in both India and Europe.

In the wake of the GEANT2 link with India and the country’s connectivity priorities, this first BELIEF eInfrastructures conference & exhibition will set out valuable insights into the trends and visions of the dynamic eInfrastructures ecosystem in India and Europe.

Organised by the EU FP6 funded eInfrastructures project BELIEF www.beliefproject.org, the conference picks up on key themes that are high on business agendas and that were subject of recent Indian presidential addresses including eLearning, reducing the digital divide, eHealth and Grid. The potential value of connecting European with Indian scientific knowledge may seem exciting but how best to harness this connectivity and make it a sustainable reality for many user communities in the two regions is a key theme that the conference will address.

Participation is free of charge, but subject to registration online at http://www.beliefproject.org/events/international-conferences , where you can also view the programme details.

Participation will ensure you benefit from:

  • Expanding your research and business network in this high growth domain
  • Understanding the dynamic eInfrastructures ecosystem of India and Europe
  • Gain insights into the latest visions for new models of research and business
  • Expand your eInfrastructures user community
  • Understand how best to harness the connectivity between India and Europe

We would very much appreciate it if you could circulate this information among your colleagues.

Euro-India ICT Cooperation

October 13th, 2006

Euro-India ICT Cooperation Gateway
Blending India into EU Research & Innovation

India offers unique opportunities to EU players to further their research and innovation. Indian ICT R&D is largely inward-looking and limited, notwithstanding excellent and abundant human resources and domain expertise.

How can the EU work with India to harness technologies, foster innovation and create solutions addressing common needs and concerns?

This session will unveil Indian potential, resources, focus and actors in order to make India a workable and rewarding proposition for Europeans.

It will provide the stage to bring together players keen to collaborate. Keynote presentations on the state of the art, priorities and opportunities by Indian and EU experts will set the stage for expertise offers from a selection of Indian players. Monsoon and Incite, ongoing FP6 IST cooperation projects will present initiatives and instruments already operational to foster collaboration. In situ interactions between participants would help explore cooperation in ongoing and future projects
